Since 2019

Our History

Our club was founded in 2019 by JoAnne and Shaun Stewart, along with some wayward homebrewers who wanted a homebrew place to call home. Starting the club did not come without challenges — Covid hit during our first two years. Slowly but surely our little club has grown, and we are proud to inspire and share our knowledge of beer with others. JoAnne and Shaun wanted to bring a homebrew club to the area that felt like family, while also being a learning opportunity for anyone wanting to get into the homebrewing world.

Nassau Homebrewers was born out of that passion, and has kept growing with the passion of current and past members.

In 2021, President Jimmy Gibson started what we call inter-club competitions, where members can submit homebrews for competitions internally.

In 2022, the board adopted this and added the Homebrewer of the Year award. Points are awarded and accumulated from attendance, homebrew sharing, and participating in BJCP competitions.
